Background:
Fullwood Primary School is a community primary day school admitting pupils from the age of three (nursery) until transfer to secondary school at the age of 11. It provides a stimulating and attractive environment in which staff, children, parents and visitors feel welcome, secure and at ease. Opportunities are provided to promote fluency in talking to aid the development of social and community skills and to increase the children's awareness of appropriate behaviour in a variety of contexts. Physical education, dance and games are essential parts of a balanced school curriculum for every pupil. Pupils will only be excused from these sessions on exceptional medical grounds. Every attempt is made to give its child a varied programme in physical education, which will include extra-curricular activities in the upper juniors such as football, netball and athletics. The school aims to promote a quality of education that creates within individuals a positive belief in their ability to strive for excellence.
