Background:

Tendring Primary School was founded in 1896 and is an attractive red brick building, which has benefited from a series of exciting extensions and additions over the last few years. Each of these has been completed sympathetically so that the overall appearance of the school retains its architectural integrity. It serves the parishes of Tendring, Beaumont-cum-Mose and Stones Green as well as taking children from outside its catchments area, and it intends to expand over the coming years. The school participates in 'many sporting events' and has seen 'considerable success' in rugby (non-contact) despite its small size. The school'sees the support of parents as 'crucial' and regards their contributions as 'vital to the school's development'. The 'Friends of Tendring School' were recently instrumental in the provision of an information and communications suite with networked computers. Children at the school have been involved in a wide range of charitable causes. A happy and highly successful school which values and respects all members of the community. Children are encouraged to develop as individuals with specific skills and talents. The inclusive nature of the school reflects the positive attitudes shown by pupils and parents, which enables the school to achieve particularly high levels of attainment and added value across all groups.
