Background:

Mossford Green Primary is a small school situated in a quiet area. The building consists of a main block to which a new classroom block and nursery were added in 1998. The nursery has a fenced off area, some of which is grassed, and play area with a safe soft surface. Its classrooms are all good size with two large rooms. All the rooms have good lighting and facilities. It has a well-equipped computer suite and a good-sized library. There is one hall, which is used of assemblies, physical education and as a dining area. It has areas that are used for small group work and musical instrument teaching. Both Key Stages have their own playground and field area. The Key Stage 1 playground incorporates some wooden climbing equipment, which was purchased by the parent association. It is constantly reviewing the playground facilities in order to provide adequate activity and seating areas. The junior field has a pond and wildlife area, which is used, by the whole school. At any time it has a number of after-school activities that are offered to pupils. The clubs offered are dependent upon the skills and interests of the staff but often include activities such as sports, art, computer or music. The school aims to provide a happy, stimulating atmosphere, in which children can become independent learners with lively enquiring minds.
