Background:

Sunnymede Junior School is a primary school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is seven to 11. The school was opened on 4th September 1958 with only 20 children on roll. Each class has at least one laptop. All classes has a timetabled slot each week to enable pupils to learn the necessary skills so that they can use the appropriate technology to enhance their learning throughout the curriculum. Each year, pupils in its choir take part in the local music festival held at the Brentwood Centre. A variety of lunchtime and after-school clubs are run by staff, and volunteers, to benefit its children. Clubs vary slightly from year to year and include: football, netball, rounders, cricket, science, chess, recorders, choir, orchestra and summer sports skills. The school aims to provide a caring and stimulating environment where all pupils are encouraged to thrive both academically and socially.
