Background:

Rivenhall CofE Primary was founded in 1855. Two original classrooms are still in use as is the school house which contains the staff room, offices and an information, communication amd technology suite. The school is situated in a rural location surrounded by farmland. A Roman villa once existed on part of the grounds and next door is a historic church. The rest of the school is housed in a 1960s addition and demountable classroom. The school is proud of its links with the community. Children regularly visit the old people's club and entertain them at school with concerts and plays. Links with the church are also strong. In recent years pupils have also been involved in raising money for charity. Extra-curricular activities include football, netball, rounders, athletics, swimming, country dancing, choir and gardening. There are 'friendly' sports matches with other schools. The school aims that pupils should make 'personal progress in all fields of primary learning to his/her full potential'. Rivenhall is slightly oversubscribed.
