Background:
Jo Richardson Community School offers internet access and computers in every classroom, science laboratories and technology workshops, soundproofed drama and music classrooms, a suite of soundproofed music practice rooms, a multi-media recording studio, a sports hall, two floodlit astroturf pitches, a fitness room and gymnasium and a dance studio. The school's canteen offers a breakfast service, and there is a suite of catering rooms for students, linked to a restaurant for serving the food they produce. The sixth form centre incorporates specialist teaching rooms and study support areas. Extra-curricular activities include clubs and teams across a range of sports; music, dance and drama clubs, trips and productions; cultural trips both in Britain and aboard; skiing trips for all year-groups; after-school subject based clubs and homework club in the library. The school tries to provide financial support wherever possible to enable all students to take part in visits and trips.
