Background:
Gaynes School was opened in 1936 in a pleasant, semi-rural environment with playing fields, which extend to over 20 acres. There are four main buildings known as A, B, C and D blocks. A new drama and music building, linking A, B and C blocks were completed in 2001. The site is also used for adult education and lettings after-school. Its information and communication technology facilities are excellent and technology provision extensive. The school has extensive sports facilities including an indoor sports hall and swimming pool. A sports pavilion serves the playing fields and a gymnasium completes the range of facilities available. It provides a happy, hard working atmosphere and a stimulating curriculum designed to prepare students for further education, university and the world of work.
