Background:
Fingrinhoe CofE Primary has been enlarged an modernised several times since it was founded in 1863, but remains a 'small church school which has a happy, family ethos and strives to instill into the children a love of learning within the context of a caring Christian community'. Parents play a valued role in the life of the school and are kept informed with a newsletter, meetings and open evenings, and 'many' help at the school. The 'very active' Fingringhoe School Association's fundraising provides additional financial support. Facilties include a hard-surfaced playground 'attractively surrounded by a bank of shrubs and trees'. The school also has use of the village green beside the school and the Fingringhoe village playing field. An IT suite is being developed which will be linked to the internet.
