Background:
Originally the Lambe School in 1594; a new Church of England school was built in 1831 and the present building in 1966. The school has four junior classrooms and three infant rooms, a hall with PE apparatus, kiln room, two libraries, an ICT suite, and an infant activity area. Outdoors there are two large playgrounds with apparatus, a large field and a covered swimming pool. The school'serves the rural village of East Bergholt, with about 5,000 inhabitants, and has a good relationship with the nearby St Mary's Church. Children 'achieve well across the entire curriculum, as well as contributing to the life of the village'. Clear mission statement, with explicit ethos and values. The individual child is important. The school'strives to provide opportunities for all children to achieve. It understands its unique and important position in the community.
