Built in 1936, the school is located on a 'small site' in an urban area of Upminster where the residential district includes a mix of private and local authority housing. A 'wide range' of extra-curricular activities is available including chess, drama, choir and recorder lessons. The school's choir and orchestra are both 'large' and it has a 'good record of success' in football, netball and cricket inter-school matches.
