Canon Palmer Catholic School is a special agreement co-educational school founded in 1961. It took the name of a much loved and respected priest who laid the foundations of the Catholic community in and around Ilford. Now 38 years later it is a well established comprehensive school. Canon Palmer School is first and foremost a Catholic school. It belongs to the local Catholic community, which it strives to serve and receives its support. The school'seeks to educate and develop pupils of all abilities who can feel at home in a mainstream school. The school has a large sports hall where activities such as badminton, netball, volleyball and cricket can take place in gym, fitness and table tennis are available to sixth formers. As a Catholic school, the school believes all have a divine origin and an eternal destiny. It promotes the development and care of each individual, both pupils and staff, serving Christ in each one of them.
