Background:

Cleveland Junior School is located on the southern side of the London Borough of Redbridge. The school is within walking distance of Ilford town centre and train station. The Cleveland Schools were built over 100 years ago. The infant school is on the ground floor and junior school is two floors above. Although in a separate building, its nursery is just across the school playground. Its school buildings have been extensively modernised and provide a stimulating learning environment for the children. Class teachers in each year-group work on the same curriculum areas. They plan work together with reference to the school's aim, policies, schemes of work and the requirements of the national curriculum. Through this approach it aims to provide a curriculum with continuity, progression, breadth, balance, coherence, differentiation and equal opportunity. The school aims to provide an environment where everyone feels physically and emotionally safe and where everyone behaves so others are safe too.
