Opened in 1910, the school occupies a brick building based around a grass quadrangle. It is located close to Hadleigh Castle Country Park, Belfairs Nature Reserve and Leigh Marshes. It offers six acres of fields in addition to hard play areas. Charity events are organised by children every term. The school holds the Essex Chess Trophy and won the local netball tournament.
