Background:

Gearies Junior School is a county junior school situated in the London Borough of Redbridge. The children within the school are grouped in three-forms of entry mixed ability classes that correspond to national curriculum year groupings Year 3 to Year 6. Its curriculum embraces the national curriculum programmes of study. Core subjects are English, mathematics and science. Foundation subjects are; technology, information technology, geography, history, music, PE, music and art. Religious education is also taught. There are a number of after-school and lunchtime clubs which are available to children including netball, chess club, early morning swimming, recorders, choir, orchestra and the school newspaper. The school aims to facilitate the academic, physical, moral, cultural and spiritual development of each and every pupil who is schooled here. It has created a safe, happy, caring and stimulating environment for children to learn.
