Background:
The school is located in East Basildon, which is convenient for both London and coastal areas, including Southend. The A127 and A13 are close by and the school is easily accessible by road and rail transport. The facilities are set on 20 acre site and include a recently opened sports hall, a five lane heated indoor pool with disabled access hoist, a sprung floor and a dance studio, a weights room and a gymnasium. The school also has eight computer network suites, a state-of-the-art technology center, an eight laboratory science suite, a specialist drama theatre, a well-stocked library and a well-equipped learning development department. There is a newly refitted art suite with CAD facilities, pottery room and dark room. There are garden and picnic areas for spring and summer outdoor eating and recreation. The school offers various extra-curricular activities including theatrical productions and major team sports, clubs ranging from keyboards to swimming and from weight training to computers, school visits and residential courses and the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. The school values all its members and seeks to support all pupils in a friendly and caring environment.
